Will the COVID-19 pandemic affect Black Friday this year?
In a year such as this one, it’s understandable to ask yourself “Is Black Friday 2020 cancelled?” There is however currently no information to suggest that Black Friday will be impacted by the coronavirus pandemic. It did initially affect supply chains all over the world, most significantly in the first quarter of 2020, but businesses are slowly returning back to a normal workflow.
The shopping experience is expected to be much like it has been in previous years, but with stronger health and safety precautions. In addition, Cyber Monday is likely to not only be unaffected negatively by COVID-19, but enjoy a rise in popularity due to the coronavirus encouraging online shopping.
Cyber Monday is an online shopping event similar to Black Friday, that occurs the Monday after. It’s often considered the online equivalent to Black Friday, and a way for smaller retail web stores to compete with larger chains by introducing their own deals and discounts. This year Cyber Monday is on November 30.
