WhatsApp users may get another option in the disappearing messages feature

Support for sending disappearing messages on WhatsApp was rolled out last year. This feature basically allows WhatsApp users to send messages that would make new messages vanish from the chat. Currently, WhatsApp offers only 7 days as a time frame option for sending WhatsApp messages in disappearing mode.
However, if a new report by WABetaInfo is to be believed, the platform will soon allow users to send messages in disappearing mode with 90 days as a limit. WABetaInfo, the website that tracks the upcoming changes and features on WhatsApp, spotted this feature in the 2.21.9.6 Android beta update.
The screenshot provided in the report shows that with this, WhatsApp users will get a total of three time limits for sending messages in disappearing mode — 24 hours, 7 days and 90 days.

Back in April, WABetaInfo had spotted that WhatsApp is working on adding 24 hours life of a message to the disappearing messages section, however, that hasn’t been rolled out yet.
As of now, users get ‘on’ or ‘off’ options that set the default setting of disappearing messages to 7 days.
WhatsApp view once officially rolled out
Just this month, WhatsApp expanded its disappearing messages feature by rolling out ‘View once’ support for photos and videos shared on its platform.
Similar to disappearing messages, WhatsApp’s View once feature makes a message disappear from the chat as soon as the receiver has seen it. What it means is that the photo or video sent with the View once option enabled can only be viewed once. It works a lot like Instagram’s Vanish Mode.
The View once media automatically disappears from the chat if not opened within 14 days and it can’t be forwarded, saved, starred or shared.
