Whatsapp to Launch New Vacation Mode and Linked Accounts Feature Soon

According to the report of WABetaInfo, WhatsApp is currently working on brand new features, the Vacation Mode and the Linked Accounts Feature, and they are currently being tested. This new feature is expected to roll out for Android, iOS, and Windows Phone users soon.

This followed the news that WhatsApp was working on a new feature to improve the chats and notification features into their platform. These updates include the support for the new Notification Extension that will let you see Media Preview in the notification

Vacation Mode

The new Vacation Mode is based and an extension of Silent Mode, an already available feature for Android users. Currently, when you archive a chat, WhatsApp will automatically unarchive it once a new message is received from that chat.

But with the new Vacation Mode feature, archived chats won’t be unarchived anymore if you have previously muted them even if there is a new message. Muted archived chats can only be unarchived when you will unmute or unarchive them. It will only work when the feature is enabled from your WhatsApp Notification Settings.

Linked Accounts Feature

The second one is the Linked Accounts Feature that allows you to link your account with the external services such as Instagram and Facebook. It appears that this feature was mainly developed for WhatsApp Business, but some of the references has been found in the normal WhatsApp app too.

Currently, Instagram is the first external service that was supported by this feature. Your WhatsApp account will be linked to your Instagram profile after tapping Instagram and inserting your credentials. WABetaInfo said that this feature can also be used to recover your Facebook account.

Silent Mode

As mentioned above, WhatApp’s Silent Mode is now enabled for Android users. This feature allows you to hide the app badge for muted chats. You will not be able to find an option in Settings to enable or activate this feature as it is already enabled by default.
