WhatsApp Dark Mode Now Rolling Out on Android Beta

WhatsApp dark mode is finally rolling out on the Android Beta. This is one of the highly anticipated features that has been rumored for a long to be made available on WhatsApp for Android. And now, it is finally rolling out on the beta version of WhatsApp Android.

With this update, WhatsApp joins hundreds of other popular offerings that have already made the transition to provide a dark theme or dark mode to their users. WhatsApp’s native dark mode is simply called Dark in the theme selection interface, and it maintains a dark green profile to the messaging app’s entire UI with some contrasting colors here and there.

In the main UI of WhatsApp, only the home screen of WhatsApp has been changed to dark mode.  In the conversation screen, only the chat bubbles have been changed to dark and green colors, the rest of the background screen is still left to white by default.

As of now, Dark Mode on WhatsApp has already begun rolling out to the beta users via the Google Play Store, and it comes with the new v2.20.13 update. If you have opted for the beta testing of WhatsApp for Android, you will see the update option for installing. And in case, if you haven’t enrolled yourself in the Google Play Beta testing program, you can register now to take benefits of the new WhatsApp update on your Android device.

WABetaInfo says if users don’t see the WhatsApp dark mode at first after installing the update, they need to delete and reinstall the latest build of the app from Google Play Store or the link given above. Of course, delete the app only after backing up your chat history as if you delete without backing up, you will lose all your chats.
