An unforgettable character in the captivating story of “Andor” is Bix Caleen, portrayed by Adria Arjona. Bix, a resident of Ferrix and a skilled mechanic, is a close friend of Cassian (Diego Luna) and a hero who prioritizes her community. In a recent interview with Entertainment Weekly, Arjona shed light on what viewers can anticipate from Bix in the show’s second season:
Throughout the season, all of our characters undergo significant growth due to the passage of time. As the episodes progress, we witness Bix’s evolution. It’s incredibly interesting for me because I get to grow alongside Bix throughout the entire season. You’ll encounter three different versions of Bix. I hope that there is a building anger within Bix, whether it be fueled by vengeance or a deep bond with Cassian, who saved her. She has always been involved in the cause, and by episode 9 of season 1, it became evident that someone needed to take action.
In the first season of the “Star Wars” spin-off, we meet the future Rebel spy, Cassian Andor, five years prior to the events of “Rogue One: A Star Wars Story.” Initially, Cassian despised the Empire for their actions across the galaxy but believed he couldn’t bring about change. The series explores his transformation from this mindset to the one that ultimately leads him to sacrifice his life for the cause in the 2016 film. A hero is about to be born, and the galaxy will forever be grateful to him.
Simultaneously, Bix is introduced as a complex character positioned to lend a helping hand to the cause while keeping a low profile. The Empire frequently sends individuals like Syril (Kyle Soller) to Ferrix in search of information about Cassian and the organization that will eventually become the Rebellion. Unfortunately, Bix falls into the clutches of the nefarious stormtroopers, who subject her to brutal interrogation techniques in an attempt to break her spirit. However, even the most dangerous tools couldn’t force Bix to betray her friends.

During an interview with Collider at this year’s Star Wars Celebration Europe, Arjona expressed her excitement about the second season of “Andor” and what lies ahead for her character. She mentioned that fans can expect a lot of reconstruction and the revelation of how the trauma impacts Bix. It will be fascinating to see how she copes with it and who she becomes as a result.
