Watch this ‘Baldur’s Gate 3’ player deal 800 damage with a divebombing Owlbear

A player of the highly popular game Baldur’s Gate 3 has recently discovered a genius strategy for taking down formidable enemies – using an Owlbear to squish them.

As reported by Games Radar, there has been a shift in tactics among some Baldur’s Gate 3 players. Instead of simply dropping enemies off ledges, they are now dropping Owlbears onto the enemy for a devastating combined force and momentum attack.

The incredible technique known as Crushing Flight in Baldur’s Gate 3 is directly related to the character’s mass and eliminates any fall damage. This means that the larger the character, the more damage they will inflict without suffering any consequences. Furthermore, increasing the distance between the character’s starting point and the enemy’s position can significantly increase the potential damage.

The talented Twitch streamer Ellohime demonstrated this strategy on the popular social media site Twitter. By utilizing Crushing Flight in conjunction with a shapeshifting spell to transform into an Owlbear and an Elixir of the Colossus, Ellohime launched themselves off a stack of crates, dealing an astounding 821 points of Bludgeoning damage. The enemy Acolyte Marls didn’t stand a chance.

Another player, Fishbleb, successfully flattened the Baldur’s Gate 3 boss Grym the Eternal Protector of the Forge by dealing a massive 1,170 points of Bludgeoning damage. To put that into perspective, this boss only has 300 health points.

What’s even more impressive is that both Acolyte Marls and Grym managed to pass their Strength checks for Saving Throw, which effectively halved the total damage inflicted by the belly flop attack.

It is important to note that this strategy is only available to Druid characters in Baldur’s Gate 3 who have reached level six or higher. Druids are the only class capable of shapeshifting into animals, and the ability to transform into an Owlbear is unlocked at a later stage of the game.
