Vivo unveils Origin OS with new customisations and features

Smartphone brand Vivo has unveiled its new custom Android layer, called Origin OS, which is said to replace its existing custom skin of FuntouchOS.
As part of the new custom layer, Vivo is set to offer a new widget system, advanced gestures and more.
According to a report by Android Authority, the Origin OS features widget support — dubbed as Klotski grid — which can be both rectangular or square in shape. The report further adds these widgets can deliver “Nano Alerts,” making them display regular updated information.
When it comes to wallpapers, the Origin OS will come with support for realistic-looking wallpapers that will depend on elements like weather effects, clouds, time of the day and more.
The newly launched custom OS from Vivo also comes with 26 gesture combinations and support for easy access to SuperCard — a mobile payment tool.
According to a report by GSMarena, Origin OS is also said to offer Multi-Turbo 5.0, which is said to be a collection of memory optimisation techniques. It is further said to come with optimisations in terms of RAM and app management.
More information in terms of rollout, global availability and eligible devices is still awaited.
