Marvel revealed the official cover for Venom #200, which hints at a new status quo for the Lethal Protector after King in Black.
WARNING: The following contains spoilers for Venom #32 and King in Black #2, on sale now.
The 200th issue of Venom will mark the end of Donny Cates and Ryan Stegman’s run on the title. However, the cover implies that they intend to end their story with a massive upgrade for the Lethal Protector.
The cover to Venom #200 features Venom with his wings unfolded and sitting on a massive throne, surrounded by hundreds of symbiotes. In his left hand resides All-Black, the Necrosword — the weapon that the God of the Symbiotes Knull is known for wielding.

All-Black, the Necrosword, is the first symbiote ever created. Knull forged it in the head of a dead Celestial and used it to kill the Celestials who invaded his kingdom of darkness. The symbiote race’s weaknesses to sonic frequencies and flames date back to All-Black’s forging. All-Black was also wielded by the alien Gorr during Jason Aaron’s run on Thor. Gorr became known as the “God Butcher” for using the blade to slaughter other deities.
During the events of King in Black, Knull ripped off Eddie Brock’s symbiote and dropped him off the top of the Empire State building. Despite Spider-Man and Iron Man’s best efforts to revive him, Eddie died. Eddie’s spirit has become part of the massive “codex” that hosts the memories of every symbiote host. As King in Black is still ongoing, there is no word on whether Eddie will come back to life.
Venom #200 goes on sale in April from Marvel Comics.
