Gala Film has unveiled a first look at their interactive animated series, “Ghosts of Ruin,” at San Diego Comic-Con. Described as “genre-bending,” the show is set in a tech-dominated version of San Francisco. The Tournament of Ruin is a significant event in this world, featuring an innovative technology called Neural Reality that provides an immersive experience.
“Ghosts of Ruin” stars Tony Revolori, K-pop star AleXa, Josh Keaton, Karen Strassman, John Bentley, Justin Long, Nathalie Emmanuel, and Rosario Dawson. Revolori’s character, Lee, earns a spot in the battle royale due to his gaming skills, but a malevolent entity within the game targets the players in a dark and mysterious manner.
Dawson, who also plays Ahsoka Tano in “Ahsoka,” portrays Prism, a tough and skilled gaming gunslinger who competes alongside Lee in the Tournament of Ruin.
An Interactive Twist
The series offers an interactive twist, allowing viewers to choose paths for the characters through the official website. During the Hall H presentation, attendees had the opportunity to provide input on Prism’s dialogue in an upcoming episode. Voters overwhelmingly chose option C, featuring a powerful and scathing retort directed at Prism’s former lover, making it the most popular choice.
“Ghosts of Ruin” was created by PJ Accetturo and Ryan Ramsey, show-run and executive produced by Michael Ryan, with Katie Stippec and Michael Ramey also serving as executive producers. The original score is composed by Hans Zimmer’s Bleeding Fingers Music, and the series is produced by Battle Island.
