Uber launches PIN-Dispatch at Delhi Airport: Here’s how it works

0

Ride-hailing app Uber has launched PIN-dispatch feature at Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International airport. The new feature seeks to cut down the wait time for the travelers and is aimed to offer a seamless pickup experience. It will give riders a one-time six-digit PIN on requesting a trip, which will be used to match them to the first rider available at the pickup zone.
Riders will be required to share this six-digit PIN with the driver, who will input the one-time numeric code into the app to begin the ride. For additional verification and checks, riders will also receive the driver and vehicle details.
The service has been already available at Bangalore and Hyderabad airports, and as per the company, has resulted in an 80 per cent reduction of wait times and improved traffic flow at dedicated pickup areas.
Here’s a step-by-step guide to use the new feature

  • Request an UberGo trip to receive a 6-digit personal identification number (PIN).
  • Walk to the Uber pickup zone, and join the line.
  • Share your unique PIN with the first available driver.
  • Verify vehicle and driver details before you get into the vehicle.
