Twitter Blue delayed: Elon Musk may have postponed Twitter Blue roll out once again |

It is turning into quite a “will he, won’t he” saga. We are talking about Twitter Blue or Verified Blue feature that Elon Musk has been talking almost non-stop for the last 30 days. Last week, Musk revealed that the feature would launch on December 2. However, it looks like that feature has further been delayed. According to a report by The Platformer, the expected launch on December 2 has been delayed. A report by The Verge concurs and also confirmed that the launch has been delayed.
Why yet another delay in the Twitter Blue launch
Musk had confirmed an all-new verification process is rolling out on December 2. “Sorry for the delay, we’re tentatively launching Verified on Friday next week,” he said in a tweet.
Musk had also mentioned that different coloured check-marks will be rolled out. “Gold check for companies, grey check for government, blue for individuals (celebrity or not),” he said in the same tweet. Further, he also said that “all verified accounts will be manually authenticated before check activates.” Musk is aware that this will take time, which is why he said, “painful, but necessary.
But in the world of Twitter 2.0 under Elon Musk, a lot can happen in a matter of few days. The Platformer reports that the reason behind the delay this time is that Musk wants to save the 30% Apple tax. The report also suggests that price of Twitter Blue might be slightly increased at the time of the launch.
Musk had said that a “longer explanation” was coming. He had elaborated on the different coloured check marks that will be coming to Twitter.”All verified individual humans will have same blue check, as boundary of what constitutes “notable” is otherwise too subjective. Individuals can have secondary tiny logo showing they belong to an org if verified as such by that org,” he said in a tweet.
