Twitch Acquired Bebo for $25M

Twitch is Amazon’s own live streaming platform has acquired the popular social media network named Bebo. Bebo was once the most popular social media network on the web-world which just acquired by Twitch for $25 Million.

If we talk about Amazon’s own platform, Twitch has over 15 Million daily active users in the previous year i.e. 2018. The platform is getting more and more popular day by day as they encourage more people to join and stream out different types of contents live on the platform.

Twitch is focusing more on providing more live channels and contents to explore by the users. The platform is adding more eSports channels for sports lovers who watch different types of sports games online.

On the other hand, Bebo was launched even before Facebook’s existence. Yes, Bebo Social Network was launched in the year 2005. The giant overtook UK’s most popular Social Network MySpace soon after its official launch.

After a few years, Facebook, Twitter and many other Social Networks have joined the era and the user-base of Bebo fell down suddenly. They have to shut down the operations of the social network giant in the year 2010. The company had also declared that they are bankrupt in the year 2013.

Soon after their announcement, Bebo was re-bought by its original founders and makers for just $1 Million. The founders had launched Bebo Blab soon after its acquisition. It didn’t go well as well and they had to shut it down after 2 years of its operations.

However, the Website was not dead at all. They have started offering live streaming of popular games such as Fortnite etc. The platform is gaining more popularity and it is in a respectable place at this moment.

In an announcement, Bebo’s CEO has said that they are focusing more on Tournaments’ live streaming. This means the platform will telecast more of the sports games in the coming months that will let you live stream your favourite sports games.

TechCrunch has reported that Facebook and Discord were also trying to buy it; however, in the end, Twitch has made it for $25 Million. We will share more information about this fresh acquisition by Twitch in future updates.
