Truecaller VoIP Calling Feature now Rolling out for Android Users

In the past week, Truecaller was spotted testing the VoIP calling feature in the Truecaller beta for Android for its premium subscribers. And now, Truecaller finally shipped the update for the Android users which brings this new feature bundled in it. In the latest version of the Truecaller app, users will see a dedicated Truecaller Voice button. With this button, users can place voice calls over mobile data or Wi-Fi network to their contacts on the same platform.

The company said that Truecaller Voice will allow users to make ‘free, high quality (HD), low latency’ VoIP calls that will be connected quickly over mobile data or Wi-Fi network. To make it easier for users to access this feature, the Truecaller Voice shortcut has been added to in-app locations such as call logs, SMS Inbox, contact profile, and after call screen.

Previously, it was rumored that the VoIP calling feature will only be available for the Truecaller Premium subscribers, but with the launch of this feature, the company makes it clear that this will be available for all the Truecaller users on the Android platform.

For iPhone users, the company notes that the same feature will be made available on iOS in the coming weeks. But for now, this is only made available to Android users. In an official press release, Truecaller has revealed that rollout of Truecaller Voice began on June 10, 2019, and it is currently underway in a phased manner.

To get the VoIP calling feature, make sure to update your Truecaller caller app to the latest version. Once you are done, you will see a Truecaller Voice shortcut on the app UI. Truecaller’s VoIP calling feature is now being rolled out in a staged manner and will soon be made available to all Truecaller app users on the Android platform.

“We have been working towards building a full communication suite for our users and voice calling is the next big step in line with this mission,” said Rishit Jhunjhunwala, VP Product, Truecaller, in a statement. “Through this integration, we are looking forward to effectively provide an end-to-end communication experience, where users can call, text, chat, filter messages, block spam and even make digital payments, all in one app. ”
