Tropico 6 – Nintendo Switch Edition Releasing on November 6

El Presidente hits your Switch in a little over a week.

Nintendo kindly dropped a jam-packed Nintendo Direct Mini: Partner Showcase on us yesterday, revealing plenty of new information. One of the new titles revealed for the Switch during the presentation was developer Limbic Entertainment’s Tropico 6. The game, which will be titled Tropico 6 – Nintendo Switch Edition, will be hitting the console on November 6 and is available to pre-order now.

The construction/political simulator sees you take the role of El Presidente to shape your island how you see fit. You’ll turn El Presidente into either “friendly statesman” or far more likely “a feared dictator” to ensure that everything runs smoothly and your subjects remain loyal to you. The Switch edition of the game will come with all previously released content, as well as a few added extras.

Alongside the brief announcement video during the direct, Nintendo released a further trailer for the game.

Tropico 6 originally released on PC back in March 2019, before hitting both the PS4 and Xbox One in September of that year. We reviewed the game during its PC launch, scoring it a 7/10 and saying “While Tropico 6 remains the same in many ways from the other games within the series, it also consistently remains true to the complex and political nature that comes with ruling a nation.”

Alongside the Tropico 6 announcement, the Nintendo Direct Mini: Partner Showcase was packed with new information. We got tonnes of new info on the upcoming Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity, including the release of a demo and the reveal that the Divine Beasts would be playable. We also finally got a look at No More Heroes 3 gameplay, as well as the release of the first two No More Heroes onto the Switch.

Together with the release of No More Heroes 1 and 2, both Control and Hitman 3 have come to the Nintendo Switch via cloud streaming. One of the other big titles featured in the presentation was Bravely Default II. The game, which was originally due for release this year, received some new gameplay footage, as well as demo information and a February 2021 release date.
