Tipster “exclusively” reveals the new sensor for one of the Galaxy S24 Ultra’s rear cameras

With less than six months since the release of the Galaxy S23 Ultra, rumors surrounding the highly anticipated Galaxy S24 Ultra have been swirling. Similar to the iPhone, Samsung’s flagship device generates immense excitement as fans eagerly await details about the next generation model, particularly concerning the chipset.
Speculation suggests that Samsung may stick with Qualcomm’s flagship application processor, equipping the Galaxy S24 Ultra and the rest of the series with the yet-to-be-announced Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 for Galaxy SoC. However, others believe that Samsung may opt for its own Exynos 2400 chipset, which is rumored to include a deca-core processor, potentially in an effort to cut costs. In certain markets like the U.S. and China, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 for Galaxy may be featured.
Providing early insights into the Galaxy S24 Ultra, renowned tipster Ice Universe took to the social media platform, X, formerly known as Twitter, to reveal exclusive information. According to the tipster, the Galaxy S24 Ultra will boast a 50MP telephoto camera with 3x optical zoom. In addition, it is expected to include a second telephoto camera featuring a periscope lens and a 10x optical zoom.
Earlier this year, there were discussions about a variable zoom lens for the Galaxy S24 Ultra that would offer a range of 3x to 10x optical zoom. However, another tipster named Revegnus debunked this rumor. Additionally, Ice Universe previously mentioned that Korean sources indicated the use of the same 12MP Sony IMX754 for the 3x telephoto camera as seen on the Galaxy S23 Ultra, as well as the 12MP Sony IMX754+ for 10x optical zoom. Both cameras would likely produce cropped images at 10MP.
