TikTok has become one of the most popular video apps globally. However, the owner of the TikTok, Bytedance is continuously expanding its collection of apps by adding the likes of work collaboration tool Lark, an instant messenger called Feiliao as well as a music streaming app. But now, the company is looking forward to making a huge jump in the world of smartphones. Bytedance is reportedly working on its own smartphone, Financial Times reported.
As from the reports, the device will come with the pre-installed apps from the company that will site more audience and helps the company to expand its reach. The device would draw on acquired patents and talent from Chinese phone maker Smartisan. However, at this time, the specifications and pricing of the phone haven’t been revealed. Even, there is no words for the launching date of this phone, although founder Zhang Yiming had supposedly “long dreamt” of a phone, according to one source.
However, if we look up to the past records of the Internet company to jump into the smartphone market, all of them get flopped in their attempt. This is because most of them focus on pushing their service than to deliver a quality experience to the users. However, if the company has a good fan following, it might turn the users as their valued customers which is somehow managed with Bytedance.
Bytedance has a huge audience from its TikTok app which has been remarked as the most popular video app globally. Also, the company is expanding its reach continuously making a massive community. And this might help the company to exist in the smartphone world. These phones is likely to target China instead of the US and Europe. However, the company must face challenges from the well-established firms in China and so they must bring some low-cost phone with great performance.
