TikTok initiates new Safety Features under #SafeHumSafeInternet Campaign in India


The leading Video-Sharing app, TikTok announces new safety measures in for the Indian Users on Friday. According to the new safety measure, TikTok allows the users to filter the comment section with the user-defined words in English as well as in Hindi.

The new ‘Filter Comment’ feature will automatically remove up to 30 user-defined words from the comment section. Also, users can change or add any words whenever they want, so they have the full rights to edit the user-defined words at any stage.

These safety features have been taken into account as a part of #SafeHumSafeInternet and #BetterMeBetterInternet campaigns which was launched by TikTok in partnership with the Cyber Peace Foundation on the occasion of the Safer Internet Day (SID) on February 4.

TikTok already has some privacy and safety setting which allows the user to modify the comment section as who can comment and react to their videos. Even this app also allows the user to filter who can message them and can download their video. TikTok had said, “the company was committed to maintaining a safe and positive in-app environment for its users in India.”

TikTok is one of the most famous video sharing app with over 54 million active users on a monthly basis.
