TikTok ban in India and has been removed from App Store and Play Stor after Court Order

The Indian government has taken a hard step towards TikTok app and has finally banned it in India. TikTok app has also been removed from the Google Play Store and from Apple App Store on the request from the Electronics and Information Technology. This judgment has been passed by the Madras High Court refused the request of China’s Bytedance Technology to stop the suspension of TikTok app in India.

This step has been taken by the court after looking to the TikTok app which is sought to be promoting disturbing contents and disgrading cultures among the youth of the country. Some sources also claimed that the TikTok restricts media to telecast the videos made using this app. And so, the court took the decision to ban this app in the country.

In the past week, Bytedance Technology challenges the decision of the High court in the Supreme Court to stop the suspension of TikTok in India. They said, they haven’t violated any regulations and never went against freedom of speech rights in India.

As of now, the court directed this case to a senior advocate as an independent counsel to examine the app thoroughly. The next hearing of this case has been scheduled to April 24. However, both of the tech giants have removed this app from their stores. However, users who have installed this app will not be affected by the termination.
