Universal has unveiled the first six minutes of Fast X, the latest speed-fueled chapter of the Fast and Furious franchise, online. The prologue, which is shared from the viewpoint of villain Dante Reyes played by Jason Momoa, bringing a fresh perspective to the heist sequence from Fast Five. The narrative, depicted Rosencrantz and Guildenstern Are Dead-style, provides insight into Dante’s malicious motives. In the footage, Brian (Paul Walker) and Dominic (Vin Diesel) drag a bank vault through Rio de Janeiro’s streets while being pursued by Dante’s father, Hernan Reyes. In the original scene, Dom is left to control the vault alone, but in this version, he kills Hernan with it in an action-packed sequence. Additionally, the footage showcases new scenes of Momoa, who portrays Dante, being forcefully ejected from his car and falling into the water below before opening his eyes dramatically.
Fast X left audiences with a cliffhanger, but Vin Diesel recently teased about Fast X Part 2 on social media, indicating a release date of April 4, 2025. The stupendous cast includes Gal Gadot’s Gisele, who returned from the dead, and Dwayne Johnson’s Luke Hobbs, bringing some positivity to the storyline. Moreover, Momoa is expected to be a part of Johnson’s solo movie, labeled Fast X.5, while it is unknown if Jason Statham’s Deckard Shaw will also make an appearance.
