Earlier this year, Honor and Porsche Design entered a partnership, and that meant that we were going to get some really gorgeous-looking phones from this partnership. However, that also started signaling the fact that the partnership between Huawei and Porsche Design might come to an end, and that has finally happened.
Porsche Design has now confirmed to Android Authority that the deal with Huawei is no longer in place. As a matter of fact, the deal ended last year in June.
Honor and Porsche Design are going to start working together, as the German firm parts way with Huawei
Both Huawei and Porsche Design have been working together since 2016, releasing several gorgeous flagships under the name. These flagships would combine the best-in-class hardware coupled with an absolutely stunning design and, in some cases, would cost a lot more than the standard variant. Some phones even received upgrades that were not available on the standard variants, but overall, this partnership did result in some really interesting products.
Earlier this year, Honor and Porsche started working together on the Honor Magic V2 RSR Porsche Design foldable phone. Yes, the name is a mouthful and a half, but it is one of the best-looking phones in the market at the moment, and of course, it does not really offer a lot more than what you can find in the standard variant. However, now that the partnership with Huawei is over, one can start hoping that the future Honor x Porsche Design collaborations with the products are actually good, and I really want phones that focus more on the design and still manage to keep the substance.
Honestly, I would really like to see Porsche Design and Samsung teaming up someday. We do know that the South Korean giant likes to work with Thom Browne for its foldable phones, but it would not hurt to see a foldable phone by Samsung or perhaps an S Ultra device that is designed by Porsche Design because that would be something to look at. However, that does bring up the fear that it would end up costing a lot of money, so it is better left as a wish rather than something that actually materializes.
