The First Descendant Gets Crossplay Beta with DLSS 3 Support in Late September

In an exciting announcement, Nexon has revealed the beta dates for its highly anticipated free-to-play looter shooter game, The First Descendant. To ensure a seamless experience for players across all platforms, including PC (access requests can already be made on Steam), PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series S|X, the developers have decided to slightly postpone the Open Beta. The crossplay beta for The First Descendant will now commence on Tuesday, September 19th, and continue until Monday, September 25th.

Nexon has also provided insights into the game’s enhancements, most of which are a direct result of valuable feedback from players who participated in the previous PC tests. Some notable improvements include DLSS 3 support (as confirmed in our exclusive interview with the development team), HDR display support, and an upgrade to Unreal Engine 5.2. Additionally, players can look forward to experiencing a new playable Prologue that delves into the game’s captivating backstory.

The First Descendant immerses players in a thrilling battle against alien invaders known as The Vulgus, who arrived from another dimension over a century ago, along with their destructive Colossi. To ensure the survival of humanity and protect Albion and the continent of Ingris, players take on the role of Descendants. As they progress through various missions and raids, players will uncover enthralling stories and grow stronger. Cooperative gameplay is essential, as players must strategically collaborate in intense 4-player boss fights, where teamwork and tactics are paramount. By completing missions and defeating bosses, players will earn new equipment, materials, and items that contribute to their character’s development.

While there is currently no official release date for The First Descendant, based on the testing progress, it is possible that the game may launch before the end of the year.
