WhatsApp rival Telegram has officially released a new update, Telegram 5.8 which brings plenty of improvements to the app along with a new location-based chat. Telegram has been releasing Privacy-based updates since a long and now they are adding a set of significant features to the app.
The update has redesigned the Chat Window within the app. You can notice new chat buttons and a new button to add new contacts to the chat. Click Add to Contacts button is also there for quick access.
This new feature will let you add to new contacts even if you don’t know the phone number of that person. Whenever you receive a chat from an unknown number, you can make use of this button to add a new contact to your contacts list.
Apart from this, the update brings a new Block option at your fingertip. You just need to select this option to block someone who is annoying you or unwanted to you.
The new location-based feature on Telegram lets you add people to your contacts who are nearby to you. You can access this feature by going to Contacts and then Selecting Add People Nearby. This feature lets you share information or can make chat with you as long as they are nearby you. You can meet like-minded people and can party together with this innovative and helpful feature.
The People Nearby section is a new feature added to Telegram app with the new 5.8 update. This section lets you find location-based group chats, you can even create your own group using the same feature.
For iOS users, Telegram has updated its theme also. If you are an iOS user, you can simply head over to their official app page to update the app. Once the app is updated, users will be allowed to choose the suitable icons for the Telegram app on their iOS device.
Moreover, Telegram’s iOS app also added Siri Integration allowing users to make use of the app hands-free.
The new Telegram update just started rolling out to Android and iOS users. It will reach to your cellphone in a couple of days.
