Tambo TA-3 Smartphone with MT6737 SoC Launched in India at Rs 4,999


Tambo Mobiles, a new player in Indian smartphone market has today launched its first smartphone dubbed as Tambo TA-3 in India. the smartphone comes with the price tag of Rs. 4,999 and will be available to purchase via offline and online retail channels across the country. It comes in Jet Black, Champagne, and Metallic Blue colour options.

Talking about the specifications, the Tambo TA-3 runs on Android 7.0 Nougat operating system and sports a 4.95” FWVGA+ (480 x 960 pixels) 18:9 TN display with 2.5D curved glass on top. The smartphone is powered by 1.1GHz MediaTek MT6737 quad-core processor coupled with Mali-T720 GPU. It offers 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage, which can be further expanded up to 64GB via microSD card.

For photography, the Tambo TA-3 comes with a 5MP rear camera with dual-LED flash support for better lowlight capturing. Camera features include face beauty, burst mode, panorama mode, and stickers. On the front, it has a 5MP shooter along with LED flash for selfies and video calls. The front camera also equipped with facial recognition technology to unlock the device.

The Tambo TA-3 is fuelled by a 2100 mAh battery. Connectivity options include Dual-SIM support, 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS and a micro-USB port. There is also a fingerprint scanner on the back. It measures 138.5×65.8×10.1mm and weighs 133 grams

Commenting on the launch, Sudhir Kumar, Chief Executive Officer, Tambo said, “We are delighted to launch Tambo in the handset market with our hero product, TA-3. We kept our target audience in mind while developing phones that are superior in quality, design, and engineering. This is a step towards our aim to make mobility accessible and affordable for everyone. We strive to provide advanced products at an affordable price that is high on innovative specs and can be easily used by all age groups.”

The company is also promising a service warranty of 200 days replacement along with a warranty of one-time screen replacement within 365 days of buying the phone. Tambo already has more than 600 service centres in India and aims to have 1000 service centres by the end of 2018.
