Take Two Hints At Late 2024 Or Early 2025 Release For GTA 6

Take Two Interactive Software Inc., the parent company of Rockstar Games, has released its latest earnings report which reveals some hints about the highly anticipated Grand Theft Auto 6 (GTA 6). According to the report, active development of GTA 6 is “well underway,” using the same wording previously used by Rockstar when they first announced the game more than a year ago. Additionally, in a statement by CEO Strauss Zelnick, he suggested that the company has something major planned for the 2025 fiscal year, possibly hinting at the release of GTA 6.

While the report does not provide a specific release date for GTA 6, it is evident that the game will not be launched within the 2024 fiscal year, which ends on March 31, 2024. However, Zelnick’s statement about an “inflection point” in the 2025 fiscal year, which spans from April 2024 to March 2025, suggests that this could be the period when GTA 6 will be released.

For now, Take Two’s focus seems to be on maximizing the value of its current games, particularly its live service games such as Grand Theft Auto Online and NBA 2K23. The company’s strategy involves implementing a live service model, which includes the development of season passes, DLC packs, and post-launch monetization plans for each new title. Take Two also plans to release select free-to-play titles for consoles.

The impact of Take Two’s recent acquisition of Zynga is also highlighted in the report, with an increased emphasis on mobile games. Take Two expresses its interest in bringing its biggest titles to mobile platforms and adapting select mobile titles for console and PC.

Although the report mentions other upcoming projects and collaborations, no specific release dates are provided. Take Two states that the release dates for the fiscal years 2025 and 2026 will be disclosed in its Q4 2024 report, indicating that more details about GTA 6 may not be revealed for some time. Fans will eagerly await further updates directly from Rockstar.
