Succession Season 3 Casts Alexander Skarsgård In Recurring Role
Alexander Skarsgård is joining the third season of Succession and will be featured in a recurring role as a successful CEO and tech founder.
Alexander Skarsgård has been cast in the third season of Succession as a recurring character. The HBO satirical drama, created by Jesse Armstrong, follows the members of the immoral Roy family, fighting for control of their media conglomerate, Waystar RoyCo, led by founder and patriarch, Logan Roy. The Emmy-winning series is executive produced by Adam McKay and stars Brian Cox, Jeremy Strong, Matthew Macfadyen, Sarah Snook, Kieran Culkin, Nicholas Braun, and Alan Ruck.
According to Deadline, Skarsgård will appear in a recurring capacity as Lukas Matsson, who is a successful CEO and tech founder. The actor is well-known for his starring roles in True Blood, Big Little Lies, and The Stand, and has starred in the blockbuster, Godzilla vs. Kong, as well as the upcoming historical thriller movie, The Northman, directed by Robert Eggers.
In the series, the family is consistently at odds with each other with the second season finale showing Kendall going against his father in what looks to be an intense wrestle for power for the upcoming season based on the sly smile appearing on Logan Roy’s face as the last shot. It has not been revealed what connection Skarsgård’s character will have with the members of the Roy family, but it would not be unreasonable for him to have a stake in the upcoming perilous battle. The third season of Succession is currently in production, and it will be intriguing to see how Matsson will be included and what Skarsgård will bring to the series.
