Starting Year 5, The Division 2 Introduces a New Co-op Roguelike Mode called “Descent”

Tom Clancy’s The Division 2 has been out since 2019, but Ubisoft and Massive Entertainment are still providing gamers with engaging content. As the fifth year of content commences, players can look forward to the latest addition, called “Descent.” This mode is a co-op roguelite that promises an “infinite difficulty curve,” with new missions, weapons, and more also slated for release in the near future. You can preview The Division 2’s Year 5, Season 2 in the trailer “Broken Wings” below.

For those interested in trying out Descent, the mode is a free, 1-to-4 player game with semi-infinite and randomized progression. Players are stripped of all their gear, specializations, and perks upon starting the game mode. The AR training simulation at the NSA Facility is designed to test the limits of the Ortiz Robotics technology, encouraging players to experiment with builds not feasible in the regular game. The ultimate opponent is the Nemesis with new exclusive rewards for defeating it. The Division 2 Y5S2 will also offer new storyline missions, new gear, the “Escalation” apparel event, and much more.

Access Descent from the Mega Map, Castle Settlement Door, Matchmaking Station, and Helicopter Pilot to activate the simulation. If you want to know more about the simulation and Ortiz Robotics’ connection to the Division and the Black Tusk, you can discover it each week in the Collectibles menu. Check out full patch notes for The Division 2 Y5S2 update right here. The game is available on PC, Xbox One, PS4, and Luna, and via backward compatibility on Xbox Series X/S and PS5.

In conclusion, Year 5, Season 1 content is available now, and players are excited about the additional content available in the latest update and expansion. Share this story with other gamers and stay engaged with the latest news and updates about The Division 2.
