Sprint and LG Team up to Launch First US 5G Smartphone in 2019

One of the major contenders of introducing 5G network Sprint Corp has announced its partnership with LG Electronics to launch 5G smartphone probably making its appearance by the mid of the next year and would the first to launch to 5G smartphones in the US.

As the next big thing in the world of technology is 5G network making the life easier for net users with fast exchanging data transfer and many carrier technology providers have completed testing and are on the verge of its launch.

The venture with LG electronics is seen as a series of events occurring in tandem along with its merger with T-Mobile making to compete in the market and in a bid to launch the first 5G smartphone.

Sprint said speeds will be up to 10 times faster than current LTE standards. The 5G faster downloading speeds reduced lag while video chatting and playing multiplayer games could become easier.

Qualcomm noted the download speed of 100 Mbps download speeds on 5G whereas for LTE it was detected at 8 Mbps and these results were found in a simulation in Frankfurt in February this year.

Among other things, it will be interesting to see how quickly hardware brands upgrade their phones to support the new network as for the ‘first 5G phone’ thing Motorola’s 5G mod for its Z line of devices for 5G network connectivity have to noticed and scheduled to launch next year.

Sprint director of product development John Tudhope said that the LG phone will be customized to Sprint’s planned 5G network, and will be compatible with T-Mobile only on that carrier’s existing 4G network. Sprint will continue to use content as a way to “bring to life the value of 5G,” as one of the benefits of the 5G network will be faster download times of video content on smartphones.

Sprint had previously announced it would initially launch its 5G network in nine cities in 2019, including New York City and Los Angeles. The Sprint is the fourth-largest cellphone service provider in terms of the number of customers, after Verizon Communications Inc (VZ.N), AT&T Inc (T.N) and T-Mobile. The price of the phone and exact launch date will be announced later.
