Spotify Launches Family Plan in India @ Rs. 179 Per Month

Spotify, the giant music streaming app has announced its family plan this Tuesday. This plan will allow up to six user accounts and one of them will be the master account. The master account holder will be billed every month. This family plan is available at an affordable price Rs. 179/- month. Each user can use their account individually and the entire family will have a separate playlist with all the songs that the members are hearing.

Spotify made its debut in India back in February and it offers premium services at Rs. 119 per month. It also offers some special discounts for students. This Spotify Premium family plan is another great feature from Spotify. It has Family Hub, Parental controls and Family Mix options. Parents can limit the usage of the app. Interested subscribers can sign up on the Spotify Premium Family Plan page. There is a trial period of three months and this helps users to check the features and opt for the services.

Alex Norstrom, Chief Premium Business Officer of Spotify stated that this family plan is one of the best ways to help parents bond with their children. The parents these days are struggling to reduce their kids’ screen time and Spotify will give them a chance to bond over the music.

This new plan has a total of 450,000 podcast titles along with 50 million songs and tracks. With just 179 rupees per month, six users can access these songs and podcasts without ads. The company also has a Spotify Lite app for the people who are struggling with internal memory issues. This app is of less than 10 MB size and is perfect for the people who are using mobiles with less memory.
