Sony Xperia 1 II, Xperia Pro With 5G and Triple Rear Cameras, Xperia 10 II Launched: Specifications, Availability

In the race of 5G-powered smartphones, Sony has also launched two of its 5G-powered flagships. The company has launched its Xperia 1 II and Xperia Pro smartphones which comes built-in with the 5G technology. Both of these smartphones come with top-of-the-line specs, including the Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 SoC and 256GB of onboard storage. In addition to both of these flagship phones, the company also launched Xperia 10 II as its new mid-range smartphone.

Sony Xperia 1 II Specifications

The all-new Sony Xperia 1 II (Sony Xperia One Mark Two) features a 6.5-inch 4K (1644×3840) HDR OLED display with a 21:9 aspect ratio and Motion Blur reduction technology. The phone comes with a CinemaWide display that offers crystal-clear cinematic viewing experience on a mobile device.

Under the hood, this flagship phone is powered by the latest octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 SoC which comes paired with 8GB of RAM. Additionally, it also comes with 256GB of UFS storage that is expandable via microSD card (up to 1TB).

In the camera department, the Sony Xperia 1 II sports a quad-rear camera setup that includes a 12-megapixel primary camera (1/1.7-inch Exmor RS sensor) along with dual PDAF f/1.7 lens that supports optical image stabilization (OIS). There are also two other 12-megapixel cameras that have 1/3.4-inch and 1/2.6-inch sensors along with f/2.4 and f/2.2 lenses, respectively. The camera setup also has the last 3D, Time of Flight (ToF) sensor with an autofocus lens.

Sony has put a great effort in the optics department to make it the best companion for photographers. The rear cameras are powered by Zeiss optics along with Zeiss T* coating and have support for features such as Real-time Eye AF, 3x optical zoom, up to 20fps AF/ AE tracking burst, and 60 times per second continuous AF/ AE calculation.

Sony has offered the Cinema Pro app on the Xperia 1 II that is co-developed with the ChineAlta and Alpha divisions to provide a list of photography-centric features and also support for touch focus. At the front, there is an 8-megapixel selfie camera along with an f/2.0 lens that has a field of view (FoV) of 84 degrees.

Apart from this, Sony Xperia 1 II runs on the latest Android 10. Connectivity options include 5G (sub6 bands), Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth v5.1, GPS/ A-GPS, NFC, USB Type-C port, and 3.5mm audio jack. The phone is IP65/ IP68 certified water and dust resistant and sports an in-display fingerprint scanner. It also has front-firing stereo speakers, Dolby Atmos, and Hi-Res Audio support, and is equipped with 360 Reality Audio technology.

For mobile gaming enthusiasts, Sony has provided DualShock 4 direct connection support as well as a Game Enhancer feature which is specially designed for mobile gamers. Last but not the least, the Xperia 1 II packs a 4,000mAh battery with wireless charging support. It is also bundled with a USB PD fast charger.

Sony Xperia Pro Specifications

For photography enthusiasts, Sony has brought the Xperia Pro as an under-development 5G device specifically designed for broadcast video cameras. The device comes with an HDMI input to let users easily use it as a camera monitor. Apart from this, most of the specs of this phone is similar to that of Sony Xperia 1 II.

Along with the flagship smartphones – Xperia 1 II and Xperia Pro, Sony has launched Xperia 10 II to target mid-range users. Xperia 10 II features a 6-inch full-HD+ OLED display with a 21:9 aspect ratio.

Under the hood, Xperia 10 II is powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 665 SoC which is paired with 4GB of RAM. For storage and media, this smartphone comes with a massive 128GB of inbuilt storage. 

In the optics department, Xperia 10 II sports a triple rear camera setup that includes a 12-megapixel primary sensor with a 26mm lens and PDAF, an 8-megapixel secondary sensor with a 52mm lens, and a last 8-megapixel camera with 16mm lens.  At the front, there is an 8-megapixel selfie camera as well.

Apart from this, Xperia 10 II runs on the latest Android 10. Connectivity options include 4G LTE, 3.5mm audio jack, and more. The mid-range device is also IP65/68 water and dustproof, has a side-mounted fingerprint sensor and supports Hi-Res audio, LDAC, and DSEE HX. At last, the phone is fuelled by a 3,600mAh battery.

As for the price, there is no word from Sony on the prices of all of these phones. As for the availability, Sony Xperia 1 II will be going on sale in Europe starting late spring this year. It will be available in Black and Purple color options. 

On the other hand, the Xperia 10 II also be going on sale in select markets in spring this year and will be available in Black and White color options. Details about whether the Xperia Pro will be available for the masses or just as a concept aren’t revealed yet. So, we can expect to hear related to that in the future.
