Sony has just revealed its new controller for Play Station 5 gaming console. This new controller is dubbed as ‘DualSense‘ which comes with a futuristic design and loaded with tons of new features including haptic feedback, adaptive triggers, and built-in microphones.

This DualSense controller comes as a successor to the DualShock 4 controller that was launched for Play Station 4. It is quite different from its predecessor in terms of design, features, and connectivity options. If we talk particularly about the design of DualSense, it comes with a dual-tone body giving it a fresh and modern look.

“We went through several concepts and hundreds of mockups over the last few years before we settled on this final design,” said Hideaki Nishino, senior vice president of platform planning and management, in a blog post.

With the DualSense controller, Sony has shifted the DualShock 4’s light bar to the left and right sides of the touchpad. Additionally, Sony has also revamped the face buttons to monochrome giving it a premium look. One of the best things about the DualSense controller is the addition of a built-in mic that lets you chat with friends without needing to plug in a headset. Also, the DualSense now charges via USB-C for the faster-charging experience.

With the DualSense controller, Sony has ditched the Share button. Instead, the company has added a “Create” button that Sony says it will reveal more about it at a later stage. Apart from this, the Sony DualSense controller features many other advanced features such as haptic feedback, which essentially replaces the rumble feature on the DualShock 4 controller for the PS4.

“We also incorporated adaptive triggers into the L2 and R2 buttons of DualSense so you can truly feel the tension of your actions, like when drawing a bow to shoot an arrow,” Nishino said.

Well, that’s all about the DualSense controller. Still, there are some things that will be revealed at a later stage by the company. Sony’s PS5 console, alongside the new DualSense controller, will ship sometime in Holiday 2020.
