With the latest update to the Snapchat app, the company allowing its users to share their Stories outside of Snapchat. With the latest update launching on March 31, Snapchat sends personal invitations for third-party developers to build Stories into their apps, allowing Snapchatters to send their Snaps to Stories in another app. In the same move, four apps have already been ready with the latest integration which includes Triller, Squad, Hily, and Octi.
App Stories comes bundled with Snap Kit, the code that helps other apps build in Snapchat integrations. Now, with the update in that kit, third-party developers can now create the option to share Stories that were originally launched with Snapchat. With that option, the Snap camera opens up to share Stories inside other apps.
Those apps that will add this option, users will be able to send to their chosen app from the Send To screen inside Snapchat. The company says that the update allows users to share with both their Snapchat Stories and a third-party app. However, there will be an option for users to skip sharing on Snapchat and share just to the outside app.
It is worth noting that the company also mentioned that the new Stories integration is built for privacy, and so, demographics and friend lists are not shared with those third-party apps. Still, there are many more apps that will get this feature rolling out in the future.
