Slenderman meets SCP in this Half-Life 2 horror mod

We all crave a third installment in Valve’s legendary Half-Life series, but unfortunately, it’s highly unlikely to happen. However, there is a silver lining. Half-Life 2 and its VR spinoff Alyx are exceptional first-person shooters that continue to captivate fans. The series is so beloved that enthusiasts constantly modify Half-Life and Half-Life 2 to create their own unique experiences.

One such incredible modification is “Disrepair” by Team Vestige, featured on ModDB (via PCGamesN). This mod transforms the iconic sci-fi FPS into a horrifying journey. In Disrepair, the player assumes the role of a Combine worker equipped with a hazard suit, dispatched to investigate and document the radioactive anomalies emerging in the Black Mesa facility.

The result is a chilling and brief experience, reminiscent of games like Slender: The Eight Pages. The player’s mission is to capture photographs of various artifacts scattered throughout the infected building while unsettling sounds reverberate in their ears.
