Shiny Petilil Goes Global With Pokémon GO: Glittering Garden

Niantic has just announced the exciting Glittering Garden event in Pokémon GO, introducing the debut of Shiny Petilil and offering limited-time Timed Research for free.

Shiny Petilil will make its debut at the in-person Pokémon GO Fest 2023 events, but Niantic is generously giving all players a chance to participate in the global Glittering Garden event.

Here’s everything you need to know about the upcoming Glittering Garden event in Pokémon GO:

• Date and Time: The event will take place from Saturday, August 5, 2023, at 10:00 a.m. to Tuesday, August 8, 2023, at 8:00 p.m. local time.
• Shiny Pokémon Debut: Shiny Petilil will make its first appearance exclusively at Pokémon GO Fest 2023: Osaka and GO Fest 2023: London. However, Niantic is spreading the love by making Shiny Petilil available globally during the Glittering Garden event.
• Wild Spawns: During the event, you can expect to encounter a variety of Pokémon in the wild, including Bulbasaur, Jigglypuff, Oddish, Hoppip, Seedot, Cacnea, Petilil, Ferroseed, Spritzee, Swirlix, and Dedenne. Keep in mind that Petilil may or may not be a rare spawn until the event begins.
• Boosted Park Spawns: Certain Pokémon will have an increased spawn rate in parks on specific days:
  • August 5th: Petilil
  • August 6th: Cacnea
  • August 7th: Oddish
  • August 8th: Seedot
• 2KM Eggs: Hatch 2KM Eggs during the event to have a chance to obtain Budew, Cherubi, Sewaddle, Petilil, and Bounsweet. Larvesta will be a rare hatch.
• Bonus Features: Enjoy several bonuses during the Glittering Garden event, including:
  • 1/2 distance to earn hearts with your Buddy Pokémon
  • 1.5× Candy for hatching Pokémon
  • Increased chance of earning Candy XL when walking with your Buddy Pokémon
  • 1.5× Stardust for hatching Pokémon
• Field Research Task Encounters: Complete Field Research tasks for a chance to encounter Tangela, Roselia, Petilil, and Foongus.
• Timed Research: Niantic is offering Timed Research for free during the event. This Timed Research will involve exploration and hatching Eggs. Keep in mind that the Timed Research tasks and rewards will expire on Tuesday, August 8, 2023, at 8:00 p.m. local time.

But before the Glittering Garden event, make sure to participate in the Poliwag Community Day:

• Date and Time: Sunday, July 30, 2023, from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. local time.
• Featured Pokémon: The star of the Community Day is Poliwag. This Pokémon has a unique split evolutionary path, offering different special attacks for Poliwrath and Politoed. Note that the Shiny form of Poliwag has already been released.
• Field Research and Timed Research: Complete Field Research tasks and Timed Research to earn King’s Rocks, which can be used to evolve Poliwhirl into Politoed. Additionally, Field Research will reward Ultra Balls, Poliwag encounters, and more.
• Community Day Special Research Storyline: For $1, you can access the Poliwag Community Day-exclusive Special Research story called “Slippery Swirls.” Tickets for this Special Research story can also be gifted to friends with a Friendship level of Great Friends or higher. Please note that this Special Research does not include an in-game medal.
• Event Bonuses: Enjoy various bonuses during the Community Day, including:
