Sea of Thieves Optimizations for Xbox Series X/Series S Detailed By Rare


Sea of Thieves is sailing for the high seas on next-gen with support for 4K/60FPS on Xbox Series X and 1080p/60FPS on Xbox Series S.

Since its release in 2018, Sea of Thieves from developer Rare has let players set sail on the high seas in the search for treasure and danger with friends on Xbox One and PC. Of course, the popular pirate-themed multiplayer game will also be heading to the uncharted waters of next-gen, with the title’s optimizations for Xbox Series X and Series S officially detailed.

Rare has revealed the optimizations that Sea of Thieves players can look forward to on the Xbox Series X/Series S, which will arrive with the consoles’ launches on November 10, 2020. Like other recent Microsoft first-party titles such as Gears 5Sea of Thieves will support graphical enhancements for the next-gen consoles via Smart Delivery, which will be free for players that own the title on Xbox platforms, or that will play it through Xbox Game Pass.

According to Rare, Sea of Thieves will support 4K/60FPS on the Xbox Series X, while those on the Xbox Series S will be able to play at 1080p/60fps. Additionally, the developer also highlighted that the title will feature reduced load times on both consoles.

While the Series X and Series S launch lineup will feature a number of upcoming titles such as Assassin’s Creed ValhallaYakuza: Like a Dragon, and more, Microsoft has also been leaning into its back catalog and the graphical enhancements that players will enjoy on older titles.
