Samsung Patents a new Dual-Screen Smartphone

Samsung is known for its innovations in their future smartphones. The company seems to be working on a new dual-screen smartphone as they have officially filed a patent which features a dual-screen phone in the work.

Unlike its Foldable Device, Samsung Galaxy Fold, this new dual-screen phone will be totally different and will feature two independent screens. The same dual-screen patent was filed in the year 2018 by Samsung. And now, the company has filed it again.

The new patent shows off a number of specifications of this dual-screen phone. The device to feature a long 18.5:9 front display. The front-display will be backed by a rear display which will be smaller in size. So basically, there will be two independent displays on the phone, the front display will be a bigger one and the second display will be a smaller one.

Of course, this is not something new as we already have seen numerous smartphones with the same dual-screen concept in the past. However, none of those smartphones has made a special place in the technology market to date. Samsung is re-branding the same dual-screen concept with their new future phones as of now.

Moving on to the second display, the rear display of this device will come with a screen aspect ratio of 4:3. This would be a square display which will be small. This display will come with limitations for the users.

This display will be there just to provide notification updates, date, time, weather reports etc. It will also show off the latest news. This display will be active always and it will consume very less battery power instead of its front display.

Unfortunately, the patents are limited to its design only. We are unable to locate the cameras on the patents filed by Samsung. However, experts suggest that the secondary display will feature both, the Primary and Secondary Cameras. To take a selfie from the phone, you will have to use the Secondary display of the phone.

Samsung has not confirmed anything about the dual-screen phone yet. However, we can expect it to hit the market very soon.
