Samsung just gave you the perfect reason to ditch your current 4K TV

If you’ve been thinking of making the jump from 4K to pin-sharp 8K then now could be a very good time. Samsung already makes some of the best 8K TVs on the planet and now the Korean firm is offering a big incentive to upgrade to one of these crystal clear screens.

From this week to September 22 customers will get a free Galaxy S20 smartphone when the buy certain 2020 QLED 8K TV models.

That’s a pretty big incentive as the S20 is the firm’s flagship smartphone with it featuring a stunning 120Hz display, fast processor and new rear camera with a Space Zoom for improved close-ups.

You can even shoot video in full 8K videos which, of course, then can then be viewed on that stunning new 8K TV you’ve just bought.

If you happen to already have an S20 in your pocket then don’t panic as Samsung is also offering those customers a maximum £400 cashback when they buy the 8K telly.

Samsung says the deal is running from the August 26 until the September 22 on the firm’s e-store and all of its 8K retailers nationwide.

As Samsung explains, say you are enjoying an action movie with a dynamic car chase. As the car moves from left to right and top to bottom on-screen, with a 2020 QLED 8K TV so will the audio. To achieve this experience, Samsung has optimised the speaker placement on its new 8K range.

Unlike conventional TVs, which often feature two speakers, the QLED 8K has six speakers positioned all around the display.

Of course, all of this technology doesn’t come cheap with these models starting from around £2,000.

If that all sounds a bit too much for your wallet then there are some more TVs launching which are much less painful on your wallet.

UK based Cello Electronics has just announced the launch of its latest goggle boxes which not only start from a very low £179.99 price but also offer plenty of smart features.

In fact, the British firm is boasting that its latest Android-powered televisions have been developed in partnership with Google.

That means they come with features such as the clever Google Assistant which can answer questions and control aspects of the telly via voice search.

There’s also the Google Play Store with access to online apps and services plus an in-built Chromecast.

This allows you to cast photos, video and other content from your Android device straight to the bigger screen on the TV.

Like most smart TVs you’ll also find instant access to Netflix, BBC iPlayer and other streaming services including Disney+.
