Samsung on today has launched a new 8” tablet, Galaxy Tab A (2017), in India. The Samsung Galaxy Tab A is priced at Rs 17,990, and will be available to purchase from today onwards via both online and offline channels across the country in Black and Gold colour options.
Talking about specifications, the Samsung Galaxy Tab A sports all metal unibody design and features an 8” HD (1280 x 800 pixels) IPS display. The Tablet runs on Android 7.1 Nougat operating system and powered by 1.4 GHz 64-bit quad-core Snapdragon 425 SoC coupled with Adreno 308 GPU for smooth graphics performance. It offers 2GB of LPDDR3 RAM and 16GB of internal storage which can be further expanded up to 256GB via microSD card.
For photography, the Samsung Galaxy Tab A comes equipped with an 8MP primary camera with an f/1.9 aperture and auto-focus along with the support of LED flash for better lowlight captures. On the front, there is a 5MP camera which can be used for video calling and selfies as well.
The Tablet is fueled by a 5,000 mAh battery with Qualcomm Quick Charge 2.0 technology. Company claims that it can give up to 36 hours of talk time and 14 hours of video playback on over LTE or Wifi. Connectivity options include 4G LTE, Bluetooth 4.2, WiFi, GPS, USB Type C, GPS, GLONASS and 3.5mm headphone jack. Sensors on board include accelerometer and hall sensor. The tablet measures 212.1 x 124.1 x 8.9mm and weighs 364 grams.
