Samsung Galaxy Fold with Infinity Flex Super AMOLED display, Hexa-Camera Setup Launched in India: Price, Specifications


Samsung has finally launched today one of its most premium smartphones – Galaxy Fold in India after it unpacked this phone in the US last week. This is the first foldable phone from the company that comes with a tablet-sized screen when unfolded, and a secondary small screen in the folded state. The Samsung Galaxy Fold features an excellent set of hardware and specifications that helps it to offer unmatched performance. Key features of Samsung Galaxy Fold includes Infinity Flex Super AMOLED display, Hexa-Camera setup, SD 855 SoC, and many more. 

Samsung Galaxy Fold Specifications

The Samsung Galaxy Fold sports a 7.3-inch Infinity Flex Super AMOLED display with 1536×2152 pixels resolution and has 4.2:3 aspect ration while the secondary screen has 4.6-inch Super AMOLED panel having 840×1960 pixels resolution and 21:9 aspect ratio.

Apart from this, Samsung Galaxy Fold is powered by an unnamed processor based on a 7nm fabrication process which will be most probably the Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 SoC as other phones in the event like Samsung Galaxy 10 are also bundled with SD 855 SoC. In addition, this phone comes with 12GB of RAM and 512GB of Internal Storage which cannot be extended further by MicroSD card.

In the camera department, Samsung Galaxy Fold comes with a total of 6 cameras placed on both sides. Out of which three cameras are placed at the back, two on the front and there’s a hidden camera placed on this phone. Out of the three cameras at the back, there’s 16-megapixel ultra-wide camera with an f/2.2 aperture, a 12-megapixel wide-angle camera with variable f/1.5 to f/2.4 aperture; and finally, a 12-megapixel telephoto camera with f/2.4 aperture. While at the front, there’s a 10-megapixel primary sensor with f/2.2 aperture and an 8-megapixel RBG depth camera with f/1.9 aperture. Now, at the last, there’s a 10MP hidden selfie camera with f/2.2 aperture.

Apart from these specifications, runs on Android 9 Pie with a tweaked One UI skin on top that supports app continuity on the foldable display. Furthermore, connectivity options on Samsung Galaxy Fold include 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth v5.0, GPS/ A-GPS, NFC, and USB Type-C port. Samsung has packed this phone with two batteries placed on each side of the smartphone. Both of these batteries add up to make a total capacity of 4,380 mAh. Samsung offers fast charging support and wireless charging support as well.

Samsung Galaxy Fold Price and Availability

The Samsung Galaxy Fold price in India is set at Rs. 1,64,999 for the lone 12GB RAM + 512GB storage variant. The phone comes in Cosmos Black color option and includes the Galaxy Fold Premier Service with one-on-one assistance with a Fold Concierge and one-year accidental damage protection as well as a one-time free screen replacement. Also, it comes with a free Samsung Galaxy Buds headphones.

As for the availability, the Samsung will start taking pre-bookings for the Galaxy Fold in India from Friday, October 4, while its shipments will begin from October 20. The pre-bookings will take place online through the Samsung eShop and offline in 35 cities across select 315 outlets, including the Samsung Opera House in Bengaluru.
