Samsung Galaxy A8 Star Launched in India with Snapdragon 660 Processor: Price, Specification and more


Samsung has today launched its latest mid-range smartphone – The Samsung Galaxy A8 Star, in India. The main highlights of the smartphone include a full-HD+ Super AMOLED Infinity Display and dual rear camera setup that comes with better low-light performance, according to the company. Notably, the smartphone was first introduced in China as the Galaxy A9 Star earlier this year.

The Samsung Galaxy A8 Star comes with the price tag of Rs. 34,990. And will be available to purchase via Amazon India starting from August 27,  the phone will also be sold in retail stores starting September 5. It will be made available in Midnight Black and Ivory White colour options

Samsung Galaxy A8 Star Specifications

Talking about the specifications, the Samsung Galaxy A8 Star runs on Android 8.0 Oreo operating system and sports a 6.3” Full-HD (2160×1080 pixels) Super AMOLED Infinity display with 80.6% screen-to-body ratio. The smartphone is powered by the 2.2GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 octa-core processor coupled with Adreno 512. It offers 6GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage, which can be further expanded up to 4TB via microSD card.

For photography, the Samsung Galaxy A8 Star comes equipped with a dual rear camera setup with a combination of a 16MP sensor with f/1.7 aperture and a 24MP sensor with f/1.7 aperture cameras with PDFA, HDR and LED Flash support. On the front, it has 24MP selfie shooter with f/2.0 aperture. The front camera also equipped with facial recognition technology to unlock the device.

The Samsung Galaxy A8 Star is fuelled by a 3,700mAh battery. Connectivity options include Dual-SIM support, 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/ b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth 5.0 LE, NFC, GPS, Glonass, BeiDou, Galileo, and USB Type-C port.
