Roller Champions Will Be Released Earlier in 2021

Roller Champions developers officially confirmed in a new trailer that the game is set to be launched earlier next year.

As of next month, Roller Champions will be receiving continuous development updates through new Dev Diary and Dev Comment videos until its launch in earlier 2021.

Originally revealed back in E3 2019, Roller Champions is a free-to-play team-based competitive game, taking inspiration from Roll Ball and Basketball sports. Two 3v3 teams in Roller Champions compete against each other in a closed circuit where each team needs to keep the ball in hand for an entire lap and then throw it to the goal to earn points. If your lap interrupted by the opponent team-mates for any reason, you won’t be able to throw the ball into the goal. The first team to earn five points wins the match.

Currently, this is the only way of playing Roller Champions, but it’s yet to be seen if any other modes would be available at launch. Also, we need to get more details about the playable characters in the game and how customizable they would be.

Roller Champions was supposed to be launched this year, but in a recent update by developers prior to yesterday’s Ubisoft Forward showcase, the game now targets an early release in 2021. The main platforms of the game are PS4, Xbox One, Switch, and PC, but regarding its delay to 2021, now it might also be available for next-gen consoles of Sony and Microsoft at launch.

Roller Champions is just one of the ongoing projects at Ubisoft Studios. The French giant has already lots of new games under development, which makes it a little bit tough to handle all of them simultaneously. Beyond Good and Evil 2, Rainbow Six Quarantine, and The Settlers are some of the other anticipated games from Ubisoft that we were expecting to see more of them during yesterday’s Ubisoft Forward, but it seems we still need to wait.
