Finally, Sony has announced that Rocket League which is developed by Psyonix has now added to the PlayStation Cross-Play Beta Program. This announcement by Sony clearly means that from today onwards Rocket League has got complete cross-platform support. Now, all the Rocket League players can now battle with each other from any platform either be it PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch or Steam PC.
Although you can play with other players online on Rocket League, you can’t make a team with them. You can only make a team with your friends in a private match by setting it up and inviting them to join your team. However, Psyonix said that this feature will be rolling soon in the first ever major update of this game which is likely to hit this year.
Now, to play on cross-platform with your friends online you need to make sure that the Cross-Platform play option is enabled in your console. For instance, if you are on PS4, head to the Main Menu of the game and go into the Options Menu. Now, move to the Gameplay Tab and double check the Cross-Platform checkbox is marked or not. If this checkbox is not marked click on it to enable, however, this is marked by default on PlayStation 4.
This cross-platform play feature has been rolled out by Psconix at the end of the past year. However, Sony was not agreed on Cross-Platform play and was only settled the PlayStation 4 Gamers with PC Gamers. But now, Sony has finally given it a green flag today and now this feature is live for PlayStation 4 also.
