Reportedly, a remake of Assassin’s Creed 4: Black Flag is on the horizon

There are rumors circulating that Ubisoft is planning to reboot Assassin’s Creed 4 Black Flag. According to sources from Kotaku, the remake of the popular 2013 game is still in its early stages and is being developed by the team at Ubisoft Singapore.

Not much else is known about the remake at this time, including any potential innovations to the mechanics and systems of the original game. Ubisoft has chosen not to comment on the speculation surrounding the project.

If the rumors are true, this decision is an interesting one, especially considering that Ubisoft is also working on a new pirate adventure game called Skull and Bones. Although Skull and Bones has been delayed, it is still scheduled for release in 2023-2024. This release may serve as a litmus test for Ubisoft to gauge interest in a Black Flag reboot.

Meanwhile, another confirmed Assassin’s Creed game titled Assassin’s Creed Mirage aims to bring the series back to its roots with classic traversal and poses reminiscent of the first game. Animation director Benjamin Fox discussed the challenges faced by the team at Ubisoft Bordeaux in maintaining the iconic visuals and mobility of the original games while improving upon them.

The Assassin’s Creed series is known for offering a variety of elements such as compelling protagonists, intriguing storylines, beautifully designed open worlds, and engaging stealth and RPG combat.
