Remnant 2 gets major patch aimed at improving stability, performance, and quality of life

Gunfire Games has recently rolled out the inaugural major patch for Remnant 2, their thrilling action RPG shooter.

Since the game’s release, Gunfire has been dedicated to enhancing the player experience. They have prioritized addressing stability and performance issues across all platforms, while also tackling bugs that hinder progression and fulfilling various quality-of-life requests.

Take a comprehensive look at the gameplay of Remnant 2.

This patch marks the first significant update, with the studio planning to continue resolving issues and introducing QoL (quality-of-life) features.

The primary improvements in this patch include optimizing overall performance, reducing hitching and potential crashes, and resolving multiple reported crash bugs. Additionally, high-detail shadows can now be enabled separately in the PC options menu.

Gunfire is actively working on several QoL enhancements related to Traits and long-term grinding. This patch includes a few changes that provide players with more freedom to experiment.

More substantial QoL changes are in the pipeline, and this initial patch is just the beginning.

Two notable changes in this patch are the enhanced ability to respec characters and the increased acquisition of Scrap resources. Further QoL improvements include raising the Trait Cap by +5, allowing the Tome of Knowledge to grant Scrap and EXP when the Trait Cap is reached, providing unlimited uses for the Orb of Undoing, removing the Trait Requirement for equipping a second Archetype, and eliminating the Scrap Cost for converting a Mysterious Item into an Engram.

The patch also includes adjustments to game balance, weapons, enemies, multiplayer functionality, progression mechanics, and rewards, along with various bug fixes.

Since its release on July 25, Remnant 2 has quickly climbed the ranks on Steam’s best-selling game list, reaching an all-time concurrent figure of 110,856. This number significantly surpasses the peak of its predecessor, Remnant: From the Ashes, which had 48,289 concurrent players.

In its first week alone, Remnant 2 sold over one million units across PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S.
