Since the launch of Redmi K30 5G, there are rumors that Xiaomi is also working on a lite variant of the phone – the Redmi K30i. Recently, we have seen this phone on TENNA listing confirming most of its speculated specifications. And now, a finding from MIUI Camera further confirms the existence of Redmi K30i.
In the last month, we have seen an internal document leak that revealed Xiaomi’s plan to launch cheaper variant 5G phones than the Redmi K30 5G. At that time, the device was named the Redmi K30i which will feature a 48MP primary camera instead of a 64MP camera that is available in the Redmi K30. This handset was rumored to release in late April with 1799 Yuan ($255) price tag.
And now, the same device is spotted in the MIUI Camera app by an XDA Developers. A string from the app not only confirms the name of the phone but also its 48MP primary camera.
<string name="back_picasso_48m">4:REDMI K30i 5G:AI QUAD CAMERA:48MP QUAD CAMERA</string>
As you can see from the string shown above, the device is codenamed ‘Picasso’ just like the regular Redmi K30 5G. Looking at this code, it again confirms that new Redmi K30i to feature identical specs and design except with some differences including the degraded primary camera.
Well, the company is expected to announce this phone in May. So, we are just a few weeks before to see the Redmi K30i phone.
