Redmi 9A, Redmi 9C With MediaTek Helio SoC, 5,000mAh Battery Launched: Price, Specifications

Xiaomi has launched its latest mid-range smartphones – Redmi 9A and Redmi 9C in Malaysia. Both of these phones are basically lighter models of the Redmi 9 series that were launched earlier this month. Both of the smartphones share common specs with some notable differences. Let’s take a closer look at both of these phones individually to get more details on them.

The newly launched Redmi 9A features a 6.53-inch HD+ (720×1,600 pixels) LCD Dot Drop display with a 20:9 aspect ratio. Under the hood, the smartphone is powered by the new octa-core MediaTek Helio G25 SoC, coupled with up to 3GB RAM. For media and storage, the phone comes equipped with 32GB of onboard storage that can be expanded up to 512GB via a microSD card.

In the camera department, the Redmi 9A sports a single 13-megapixel rear camera with f/2.2 aperture. At the front, there is a 5-megapixel selfie camera with f/2.2 aperture for selfies and video calling. 

Apart from this, the Redmi 9A is running on the latest Android 10 with MIUI 11 at the top. Connectivity options on the phone include 4G LTE, Wi-Fi, a 3.5mm audio jack, and Micro USB port for charging. The phone also supports AI face unlock. Lastly, the phone is fuelled by a massive 5,000mAh battery with 10W fast-charging support.

On the other hand, the Redmi 9C comes with the same 6.53-inch HD+ (720×1,600 pixels) LCD Dot Drop display with a 20:9 aspect ratio. Under the hood, it is powered by an octa-core MediaTek Helio G35 SoC, coupled with up to 4GB RAM. Similar to Redmi 9A, it also comes with 32GB onboard storage that can be expanded further up to 512GB via a microSD card. 

In the optics department, the Redmi 9C sports a triple rear camera setup that includes a 13-megapixel main camera with f/2.2 aperture, a 2-megapixel macro sensor with f/2.4 lens, and a 2-megapixel depth sensor with f/2.4 lens. At the front, there is a 5-megapixel camera with an f/2.2 aperture for selfies and video calling.

Apart from this, Redmi 9C also runs on the latest Android 10 with MIUI 11 at the top. Connectivity options on the phone include 4G LTE, Wi-Fi, a 3.5mm audio jack, and Micro USB port for charging. The phone also has a rear fingerprint sensor and also supports AI face unlock. Lastly, the phone is backed up by a 5,000mAh battery with support for 10W fast charging.

As for the price, the Redmi 9A is priced at RM 359 (approx Rs. 6,300) for the 2GB + 32GB storage variant. The phone will be available to buy via e-retailer, Lazada starting July 7 for an introductory price of RM 319 (approx Rs. 5,600). It comes in Midnight Grey, Peacock Green, and Twilight Blue color options.

On the other hand, the Redmi 9C is priced at RM 429 (roughly Rs. 7,500) for the 2GB + 32GB storage model. It will be officially available to buy at the end of July. The phone comes in Midnight Grey, Sunrise Orange, and Twilight Blue color options.
