RED Hydrogen One with Holographic Display Clears FCC

High-end camera manufacturer, RED has announced has announced their interest in smartphone segment by unveiling RED Hydrogen One smartphone back in 2017. However, we are still waiting for the launch of the smartphone. The good news is the phone is now finally approved by the FCC in the US, which probably means that the smartphone is ready to launch soon.

The RED Hydrogen One smartphone said to be the first-ever phone with a “holographic display,” and expected to feature top-notch specifications. The FCC listing contains some images of the phone, as well as some details on specs.

As per the listing, the RED Hydrogen One smartphone will be fuelled by a massive 4,510mAh battery and dual-SIM support. It will support all LTE bands in the United States. The FCC listing images also confirm the presence of a USB Type-C port, front-facing stereo speakers, and traditional 16:9 display. There will be a dual camera setup on the back and the front as well.

From the previous leaks, the RED Hydrogen One smartphone will feature a 5.7” screen that has the ability to show 3D holographic content without any requirement of glasses. The display would support both stereo 3D and RED’s Hydrogen 4-View (H4V). The smartphone could be powered by the last year’s flagship Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor.

The company has already taken pre-orders in the US that has been closed now. The Aluminium version was priced at $1295 and more expensive Titanium option was priced at $1595. The smartphone is expected to arrive in this summer, but no specific date has officially announced yet.
