Red Dead Redemption 2 Companion App to be Launched Along with the Game


Rockstar Games’ upcoming Red Dead Redemption 2 is quickly coming for Xbox One and PlayStation 4. The map in this game is huge, and it is hard to maintain your way throughout your journey. The developer seems to be ready with this issue as an official companion app has now been announced for iOS and Android devices. It will be launch along with the game.

The companion app will serve as a guide that will help you with a lot of in-game tasks such as hunting your enemies, finding hiding spots from officers of the law, and finding locations, like the nearest General Store.

The publisher explained the capability of this companion app and also mentioned some details. “The Red Dead Redemption 2 Companion App connects directly with your PlayStation 4 or Xbox One as you play, delivering real-time interactive information to your smart device. Available for download on October 26th on both iOS and Android, you can pan and zoom the map, set waypoints or mark areas of interest with a tap on your screen, aiding your exploration and discovery throughout the expansive world of Red Dead Redemption 2.”, they said.

They continued the explanation saying that “The app will also show you Arthur Morgan’s core info and stats in real-time on your device, allowing you to completely remove the in-game HUD from your television should you choose. Additionally, the Companion lets you examine Arthur’s in-game Journal, provides stat tracking through Social Club, contains the full digital game manual, plus an optional digital version of the Red Dead Redemption 2 Complete Official Guide from Piggyback and more.”

As we can see from the explanation, the companion app will have a lot of backgrounds, and it will surely accompany you as you cover your ground and check in on the history of Dutch’s gang. The companion app will connect you straight to your game, it will give you a higher level of interaction.

The app is expected to enhance your on-screen experience, adding an option to shift heads-up-display (HUD) elements to your smartphone. This feature will double-down on immersion, but will not comprise on gameplay indicators, so this app will surely do its purpose.
