A Glimpse of FX’s Justified: City Primeval
Based on Elmore Leonard’s novel City Primeval: High Noon in Detroit, the series follows Raylan Givens (Olyphant), who left Kentucky’s backwoods eight years ago and now resides in Miami. He leads a peculiar life as a U.S. Marshal and part-time single father of a 14-year-old girl. Raylan’s hair has turned gray, his hat has seen better days, and the future ahead of him is shorter than his past.
An unexpected encounter on a desolate highway in Florida sends Raylan on a journey to Detroit. There, he crosses paths with Clement Mansell, known as “The Oklahoma Wildman” (Boyd Holbrook), a violent and sociopathic fugitive who evaded Detroit’s law enforcement once and plans to do it again. Mansell’s lawyer, Carolyn Wilder (Aunjanue Ellis), a formidable native of Motor City, is determined to defend her client, while navigating the complexities of being caught between law and crime. These three characters are on a collision course in true Leonard style, fighting to survive the treacherous “City Primeval.”
