‘Rainbow Six Siege’ reveals “destructive” new operator Ram

Ubisoft has just unveiled Ram, the upcoming operator for Rainbow Six Siege, along with a range of exciting changes that will be introduced in Year 8 Season 3 of this popular shooter game.

After releasing an animated trailer yesterday (August 13), Ubisoft has officially confirmed that Ram will be a three-health, one-speed attacker equipped with a unique and “destructive” gadget.

Originating from South Korea, Ram has the BU-GI Auto Breacher gadget at her disposal. This drone is capable of tearing apart destructible floors, breaking through barricades, and destroying defender traps once deployed.

Ubisoft describes these devices as being equipped with spinning blades and explosive charges, specifically designed to demolish defensive positions and create vertical play opportunities by exposing large areas of floor. They are not only powerful but also loud, making them highly distracting.

When it comes to weapons, players can choose between the LMG-E light machine gun or R4-C assault rifle as Ram’s primary options. Her secondary weapons include the ITA12S shotgun and MK1 9mm pistol.

Rainbow Six Siege’s next season, Operation Heavy Mettle, is scheduled to launch on August 29. Besides introducing Ram, this update will also bring adjustments to the gadgets of Grim, Fuze, and Frost.

Additionally, a new Arcade game mode called Weapon Roulette will be added. It functions similarly to Team Deathmatch, with the exception that players start each match with a random weapon. Loadouts will be randomly swapped later in the match, offering a unique and surprising gameplay experience. Ubisoft has described this mode as “a fun way to showcase your skills with the Siege arsenal and test your aim in unexpected situations.”

Furthermore, Operation Heavy Mettle aims to enhance shotgun performance by making them more consistent and reliable. The update will also include mandatory tutorials for new players before they can join multiplayer matches, as well as starting Quick Match games with pre-reinforced “basic” walls.

In other gaming news, Overwatch 2’s Invasion update has introduced three story missions and a new support hero.
