Today, Qualcomm announces three new mobile chipsets which include Snapdragon 730, 730G, and Snapdragon 665. These latest chipsets will target both high-end and mid-range segment of smartphones that are going to be released in the coming months. These chipsets will improve the smartphone’s performance, battery life, and its graphics.
Snapdragon 730 Chipset
First in the row is Snapdragon 730 SoC which is from the second generation Snapdragon 700-series which was launched back in early 2019. Snapdragon 730 is an octa-core processor which consists of two 2.2GHz Kryo 470 cores and six 1.8GHz Kryo 470 cores made on the 8nm fabrication process. In addition, this SD 730 SoC is paired with Adreno 618 GPU which can support upto 8GB memory, UFS 2.1 storage, eMMC, and USB 3.1 connectivity.
Also, it comes with a Spectra 350 image processor which is capable enough to support up to 36 MP single main camera or a 22 MP dual setup and 960fps 720p slo-mo video capture, as well as 4K HDR video Portrait mode. This chipset can be combined with FHD+ resolution display with HDR 10 support. Furthermore, this chipset is combined with Snapdragon X15 LTE Modem which delivers a download speed up to 80 Mbps and 150 Mbps upload speed.
Snapdragon 730G Chipset
Snapdragon 730G Chipset is a gaming processor with almost every single specifications similar to that of the Snapdragon 730 SoC. However, it is more powerful than its native chipset. Snapdragon 730G offers up to 15% better graphics performance compared to the 730, and 25 percent better performance than its predecessor SD 710 SoC. This is because of the use of higher clock speeds.
Snapdragon 665 Chipset
Snapdragon 665 SoC is the successor of SD 600 chipset which you can find easily in some mid-range smartphones. Similar to SD 730, this chipset also comes with octa-core design which includes four 2GHz Kryo 260 cores and four 1.8GHz Kryo 260 cores made on a 11nm fabrication process.
This chipset is paired with Adreno 610 GPU, Hexagon 686 DSP, Snapdragon X12 LTE Modem and Qualcomm Quick Charge 3.0 technology. In addition, it also comes with Spectra 165 ISP, which supports up to a 48 MP single main camera, or 16 MP dual camera, or even triple camera setups.
All of these three Chipsets will be coupled in the smartphones that are going to be launched in the second half of 2019.
